184 golfers support the MD Golf Academy Am-Am!
Last week our Head Professional Matt Daley hosted his annual golf day which raised over £1,500 for the junior section and golf academy!

Burstwick welcomes the Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs
Today we are hosting a Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs Members’ Meeting at Burstwick and 170 golfers from all over the county will be coming to play the course.

Bunkers topped up with 35 tonnes of sand
This week our team have been hard at work topping greenside bunkers up with sand. Some 35 tonnes of sand has been distributed to over 45 greenside bunkers and they are lookin great for it!

On Friday 26th May we hosted our most high profile event of the year - our Annual Pro-Am. With headline sponsor Pro Sports Cars by our side we knew the event was going to be as big as ever, and we were determined to give our 42 teams a great day.

Great day out for the Junior golfers of the Matt Daley Golf Academy
On Saturday we hosted the first of a variety of junior development competitions at the club to give the players from the Matt Daley Academy a chance to test themselves in a competitive yet fun and relaxing environment!

Last Friday we held the 10th anniversary of the Smile Foundation Golf Day with Santander and it was a huge success!

The Club needs your help!
The club needs your help battling air pollution from the nearby concrete block factory.
Volunteer Night - Thursday 25th May 2023
We are hosting a Volunteer Night next Thursday evening at 6pm, with the task of reseeding divots on tees, also known as "divotting". What this will involve is using a bucket and hand scoop to spread a rootzone and seed mix on the tees. We will also be tidying up bunkers and repairing pitchmarks.

A great turn out for the 2023 Captain’s Drive In!
Our 2023 Captains hosted their Drive-In on Saturday and it was a huge success. Men’s Captain John Ward, Senior Captain Bill Broughton, Junior Captain Tom Ward, and the Hull & District Captain of Captains Brian Wilson all tee’d off in front of a 30-strong crowd at 8am, signifying the start of their captaincies.

CPR training goes down a storm with members
In light of recent events at the club (see here) we teamed up with our very own member Mandy Roberts (Primary Care Network Paramedic for Symphonie) and with the help of a training defibrillator from the the Daniel Wilkinson foundation, to provide some free CPR training at the club for any members who wanted to be educated on how to save a life.

Update on Steve Fletcher
As you may know one of our members, Steve Fletcher, suffered a massive heart attack on Tuesday 22nd November, and he was resuscitated on the course with the help of staff and members (and a defibrillator) before an ambulance arrived to take him to Castle Hill Hospital.
