Burstwick Juniors finish second at Ganton
On Sunday 19th September Burstwick Junior Team went up to Ganton Golf Club to compete in the 2021 East Riding Junior League Final after finishing 2nd in the 2021 league season, a point behind Hull golf Club.
The three Burstwick lads were joined with teams from Hull Golf Club and Cottingham Parks, and the format was an individual stableford with an aggregate of all three scores deciding the winning team.
Our team of Captain Alex Hewitson, his Vice-Captain Ashton Webb, and Tom Ward (who will be Ashton’s Vice next year) went round the toughest golf courses in the region and shot very respectable scores to add up to a total of 65 points, which was 14 points behind the winning team from Hull Golf Club.
Our lads represented the club admirably and we are delighted that they were able to represent us at Ganton! Thank you to John Ward for being the Junior Organiser for the 2021 season and making sure the boys were looked after, and to the other parents and supporters of the team for everything they did. Also thank you to our Men’s Captain Steve Alger for being at the event to get behind the lads.
