Last week our Head Professional Matt Daley hosted his annual golf day which raises funds for the junior section of his golf academy.

With 40 teams attending the day on Saturday 22nd June it promised to be another very busy day at the club, and the weather was absolutely stunning all day.

We were completely inundated with gushing comments about how our greens were running which is always lovely to hear, the speed and smoothness were particularly mentioned. The greens were running at 11 on the stimp meter and rolling very true, which delighted (and challenged) many of the golfers who’ve not visited the club in a while.

On the day Matt had various sponsors who helped put on a great prize table to the value of over £2,000, and team prizes went down to 8th while ancillary prizes included four nearest pins and a straight drive.

Matt is thrilled that with everyone’s support over £1,000 was raised for the Junior Academy! Matt has still to decide how exactly this will be spent on the Juniors but in the past he has bought them MD Academy shirts, caps, goodie bags, notepads and more.
