Matt & Luke flying the Burstwick flag at Fulford and Ganton

On Monday and Tuesday of this week our PGA Professionals Matt Daley and Luke Bell were competing in the Yorkshire PGA Premier Pro-Am, which is a two day event held at Fulford and Ganton Golf Clubs.

The field which consisted 43 professionals and teams were all competing on two of the best courses in Yorkshire, and both of them were in prestine condition.

Matt and Luke both played fantastic golf, with Luke at -3 after day one at Fulford and Matt at level par going into the second round at one of Matt’s most favourite courses - Ganton.

The scores were scores were much higher on the second day as Ganton was playing firm and fast, and the rough was quite punishing if you were just off the fairway. In the end Matt put in a great score to finish at -2 for the event (tied 2nd) and Luke just missed a couple of putts to end up on level par for the 2 days to finish tied 7th out of a field of 43 very strong pros! The median pro score was +7, for context.

Matt’s and Luke’s teams also played great golf and finished 3rd and tied 11th respectively. Well done to both professionals and their teams for flying the Burstwick flag, they have done the club extremely proud!
