160 golfers support the MD Golf Academy Am-Am
Last week our Head Professional Matt Daley hosted his annual golf day which raises funds for the junior section of his golf academy.
With 40 teams attending the day on Saturday 11th June it promised to be another very busy day at the club, and despite the (again) wind showing it’s face, the day was dry, warm and sunny which kept everyone happy on the golf course.
We were inundated with gushing comments about how our greens were running, which is a testiment to how the investment and hard work our team has put into the course is now starting to pay off. The greens were running at 10.5 on the stimp meter and rolling very true, which delighted many of the golfers who’ve not visited the club in a while.
On the day Matt had various sponsors who helped put on a great prize table to the value of over £2,000, and team prizes went down to 8th while ancillary prizes included four nearest pins and a straight drive.
Matt is thrilled that over £1,000 was raised for the Junior Academy, which is absolutely fantastic! This has paid for notepads for our young golfers who are learning the game, so that they can keep notes from their lessons with Matt and Luke, and record scores from challenges.
It has also paid for MD Academy caps, pitch mark repairers, ball markers, tees and more!
Thank you to all who attended and supported the event, the club and academy are very grateful, and we are extremely happy to put this money to good use.
