Clarification of Burstwick (Texas) Scramble Rules

Handicaps

Team of four receives 1/10th handicap, team of three receives 1/6th handicap.

Restrictions

Minimum of four drives each for team of four, five drives each for team of three.

Playing Each Shot

Place a marker around eight inches either side of the ball, the ball which was chosen must be played first, if Winter Rules are in force it may be lifted and cleaned.

Dropping or Placing?

Apart from greens, anywhere on the course (including fairway) the ball must be dropped within one club length of the marker, no closer to the hole.

The only exception to this is when Winter Rules are in force, the player MAY place the ball on closely mown areas (fairways and tees) but must only do this once and not lift/clean the ball once placed.

On the green, players must place there ball as close as possible to the original spot of the chosen ball, using the marker to assist this positioning.

The ball must never be placed or dropped in front of the point of where the original ball was played, or the marker.
