Hull & District Winter League 2021-22 fixtures now released
The Hull & District Winter League fixtures have been announced for the season and it looks like it’s going to be a cracker with 16 events in total that our members can take part in.
Not only is there a decent prize fund at each event, there are three trophies up for grabs with the Hull and District Alliance: the Ted Biggs Salver for the best overall team performance at the final event at Hull; the Beverley Trophy for the best team at the President’s home club, and; the Victor Hurdle Trophy for the best points score from the best club score at each event over the season.
The Hull and District format a pairs betterball stableford competition with Winter Rules (preferred lies) always on. Teams, usually 6-8 pairs, compete alongside players from different clubs.
Players have a maximum handicap of 20 (85% allowance) and there are amateur and best professional prizes.
Both Matt and Luke aim to play in the events and we hope to field strong squads throughout the year. Should a player be selected and then find he cannot play, it is his own responsibility to find a replacement if there are no reserves. Should a pair win an event the two players are not allowed to play in the same pair that season.
As it is betterball competition, all reasonably consistent players can win a prize at any event. So put your name forward for selection for this alternate Thursday competition on the sheets on the club noticeboard.
