Greens Maintenance

Hollow Coring Greens Hollow Coring Greens

While the club has been closed Mark and his team have been working hard getting the golf course ready for opening on Monday 29th March. Last week we completed greens maintenance with hollow coring, topdressing and a fertiliser application. The process went extremely well and thanks to the newly purchased sweep and fill machine the greens are already recovering nicely ready for opening back up.

We plan to do a deep scarify on the greens next week also to get rid of some organic matter, so this year the greens should be in the best shape they have been!

We were hoping to hollow core our tees this Spring too (and have that become part of the annual maintenance program) but unfortunately the lockdown stopped this with us having reduced staffing numbers. This will be done moving forward though, to keep the tees healthy and free-draining.
