Review of our biggest Pro-Am to date!
Last Friday we held our biggest ever annual Pro-Am with 38 teams coming to the event to enjoy a fantastic day at Burstwick.
Headline sponsor Pro Sports Cars prepared goodie bags for each player and provided some beautiful cars to showcase their brand around the course, including an Audi Q8 and a Range Rover Sport P400.
As well as putting up the main professional prize of £1,000, Joe Lamplough and his team from Pro Sports Cars helped us organise proceedings for the day, including offering many of the amateur ancillery prizes, and providing staff on the day to greet the players and run the putting challenge to wine a bottle of champagne.
The weather was sunny with a slight ‘Burstwick Breeze’ which was enough to test the professionals and teams alike. The winning score was from Gareth Traynor who shot a very impressive 65 (-5) early on in the day, and the winning team was from France Financial who had 17 under par, and beat the second place team on countback to claim the fantastic first prize worth £1,000 between the three amateurs - a Bushnell Tour V5 laser each.
Aran from the Yorkshire PGA did yet again a fantastic job organising lots of the professionals and running the registration desk on the day, as well as checking all the scores and hosting the prize presentation.
The meal went down very well with all the players, as did the half-way house which was ran by our Lady Captain Sarah Leonard, joined by Ann Pickett of the ladies section and also Sarah’s husband Bob.
Greens were running quick and smooth after our head greenkeeper Mark started the day at 2:55am by mowing and ironing the greens! The rest of the course was in great condition and was a testiment to Mark and his team.
We would like to say a massive thank you to Pro Sports Cars for helping us make the event so successful, they really pulled out all the stops to make the day a very memorable one for all the players.
