The Boom of Burstwick!
Over the past two years we have seen some fantastic growth at Burstwick and this is only the beginning.
The course has been improving every year and with the addition of Matt Daley and the creation of the MD Golf Academy, Burstwick is becoming a real force in the region.
The proof is in the pudding - right now we have the most members we have ever had after gaining 50 (nett) members in the last 18 months, the driving range has seen a 20 per cent increase in footfall, Matt is fully booked every week for lessons in his studio, and the restaurant has seen an upturn in customers.
So what’s next?
The plans for the next couple of years are to increase the teaching capacity by building a second golf studio for the MD Golf Academy, we are extending the car park (boring, but we can’t fit everyone in right now!), creating a new entrance from the road and increasing the greenkeeping team.
On top of this we are looking at a possible community collaboration with a local Woodland Group to potentially plant another 1,000+ trees at the club in some of the non-playing areas of the course to enhance the wildlife and give cleaner, greener air to the area.
Ultimately, despite the terrible winter we have had so far, this has not stopped us pushing forward, and we are very ambitious about continuing this trend for years to come with greater investment and bigger improvements to the facilities!
