Home team wins top prize at The Audio Room Pro-Am as event is a huge success!
We couldn’t have asked for better weather for the Audio Room Pro-Am on Friday 24th May - bright blue skies, not too much of a breeze and a temperature that meant many legs were out in force on the day!
With a field of 33 teams - the most we have ever had at the club - it was a very busy day on the golf course, and the numerous kind comments about the golf course and hospitality meant that our team had done a fantastic job of preparing for the day.
The halfway house which was sponsored by GRT7V Promotions providing an array of homemade sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiche, flapjack and lemon sponge served with complimentary beer, wine or soft drinks, kept the golfers fueled after nine holes to keep the scoring going.
The winning team of Carl Cunningham, Chris Farr, Warren Peers and professional Alex Belt scored a fantastic 20 under par to win the event, a great score on a challenging and quick golf course!
Professional scoring was impressive with 9 of the 33 professionals shooting under par for the day, but none threatened Alex Belt’s course record score of 62. Gareth Traynor took the top prize of £1,000 with his 66, with John Wells, James Drinkall and Robert Booth in tow for tied 2nd on 67.
Home professional Matt Daley was disappointed with his 1-under 69 after a bogey-bogey start and bogey-bogey finish but finished a very respectable tied 5th in his first event at Burstwick as the Head Professional.
Thank you to Darren Bamford of The Audio Room for sponsoring the whole event, and to all the associate, prize and tee sponsors which helped us along the way, and most of all thank you to the 132 players who participated in this fantastic event!
