Captain's Charity Am-Am and Casino Night was a Fantastic Event!
On Saturday 23rd July Men's Captain Alan Mackinnon hosted his Charity Golf Day and Casino Night raising funds for local charity Cash for Kids.
The golf day was a huge success with a full complement of teams for the 9am shotgun (20 teams), and the weather blessed the golfers with absolutely perfect conditions throughout the day. Temperatures rose to around 25 degrees and there was merely a light breeze to keep everyone cool.
The Half-Way House, which was one of the biggest talking points about the events, was sponsored by The Audio Room, and was playing music from a system set up by the sponsors, players agreed this was a very unique touch which went down very well!
Burstwick's Touring Pro Joe Coyle was on hand on the 10th tee to take tee shots for all the players in the field, with many people egging him on to go for the green which was some 300 yards away, and into wind!
Compliments about the course (especially the greens) were in abundance on the day and the scores reflected the good conditions. Congratulations to the winning team with a fantastic score (see below).

Alan Mackinnon had a great evening in store for guests, in the form of a Casino Night with live entertainment from singer Steve-O. Alan elected two bouncers who manned the door for the event, Alfie Tidder and Alex Hewitson, who did an excellent job! "If your name's not on the list, you ain't coming in!"
The two casino tables were attended by trained croupiers, one being a roulette table and the other blackjack. Our guests spent much of the night crowding the tables and trying to win big! As all proceeds were going to charity, there would only be one winner on the evening; the person with the most chips at the end of the night.
In true 'go big or go home' fashion, Joe Coyle managed to build up a huge bank of chips, earning him the crown of best player on the evening and winning a bottle of Prosecco for his achievement. There was also a best dressed couple award which went to Steve Young and Sarah Box for their fantastic outfits.
