Thank you for your Support in the Course Furniture Am-Am!

LAST Saturday was our re-arranged Open Am-Am which was raising funds for course furniture at Burstwick and we had a great turn out.

After the original event - which was due to be held on March 5 - was cancelled due to inclement weather, we were forced to re-arrange the golf day at short notice, and to be quite honest I was fearing that due to other commitments we would see a lot of teams drop
out.

Knowing that putting teams together for these type of events take a lot of organising for people (let’s be honest we all have jobs, families, other hobbies, etc), I was quietly hoping that we would achieve 20 teams, after the original event had 26 booked in, but running up to the event during the week things were starting to look promising, with phone calls left, right and centre from golfers confirming their tee times.

In the end we were just three teams shy of the original number, which we were absolutely delighted with! Especially considering the circumstances.

This meant that we could still afford to invest £1,000 in furniture for the course, which has resulted in four heavy-duty recycled plastic benches which are now in our maintenance shed waiting to be put out. Watch this space and you will soon see them being put out on the golf course, and thanks to everyone who supported us!
